This page is dedicated to my horse Dakota. He is a Blanket Appalossa who is going to be 5yo in 2007. He's got a great personality and is a joy to ride!
Unlike most horses, he hates apples and carrots!! But he loves his apple pummace and molassas horse treats!
I ride him western and the odd time bareback. We are starting to work out a bit more now. I'm learning to become a better rider, and he's gaining some muscle!
I bought him from Gail at Purple Valley Riding Stables. His mother(dam) was named Simon, and she was a pitch black appy mare(lightly dappled). His father(sire) is a chestnut Pinto.
He is now located just 6mins from our house in Walkerton. It's great having him so close.
Oh man.. why is she making me do this!
Daisy loved to sit on Dakota. She would come out on the rides with me sometimes too. This is after a particularily tiring day for the both of them. Dakota was sleeping as well!

WOOHOO!!! Big News on the Dakota front... He has finally figured out that cantering WILL NOT kill him! And now that he knows that, he want's to do it all the time! Which is really quite fine with me... He has also learned how to back up!

Having a snack with Pandy
I've started applying this mixture to Dakota's mane and tail to get it nice and thick and long. It's supposed to make hair grow up to 3 inchs/month. I'd be quite happy with that. I'm going to start taking regular pictures of its progress. Help me decide if it's grown at all!

I haven't taken any pics of Dakota's mane and tail lately, so let's just suffice it to say that it's grown A LOT!
